Optibus, the AI-powered platform for public transportation management, and charge management system (CMS) provider, Dhemax, have teamed for a smart charging integration that bridges the gap between planning and electric bus operations.
The joint solution aims to help electric bus operators navigate all the complex layers of electric fleet management – from fluctuating electricity prices to grid limits to charger availability – to ensure that electric buses are charged as needed while protecting battery health.
Recharging electric buses
Optibus claims its software is designed to create the best possible charging schedules for electric buses. That includes optimising when, where, and how long each vehicle needs to charge based on constraints including range, battery state of charge (SoC), charging speed, route timing, and grid limitations. The result is a charge plan with all the recharge events that electric buses need to stay on schedule.
